THEM AS WE WOULD NEW CONSULTANTS |
Experience
has shown us that the entire skill set needed for successful change
in any organization does not naturally exist in that organization.
It requires content expertise in the unique characteristics of the
operating areas (manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, purchasing,
accounting, etc). You need to understand how these areas are affected
by the industry and the individual company’s culture. Add
the people skills to manage significant change at all levels. Finally,
get this all in place on an accelerated schedule achieving measurable
financial results. The necessary skill set becomes quite complex:
project management, process design, team building, corporate communications,
financial and performance measurement, to name a few.
The answer to the challenge is to form a special team, a Joint Team.
This team combines the industry and change management skills of
Fact Based Management’s consultants with the company-specific
skills of client employees. We work with our clients to select a
group of employees based on their credibility in the organization
and knowledge of how to get things done. They are selected from
the worker (including union), professional and management ranks
in the affected areas.
We begin working with them at the start of the project, training
them in our techniques. Their training continues throughout the
project, delivered just in time for the next series of major events.
They get the training and then exercise its application in the live
operation with Fact Based Management. They and our consultants become
the core team, guiding process design and leading implementation.
Their training includes:
- Team
Dynamics: the roles on teams and how successful
teams develop.
-
Seven Elements: application of Fact Based Management’s template
to their specific work environment.
-
Communication Planning: preparation of ongoing communications
concerning the project.
-
Team Charters: process for clarifying team deliverables with sponsors
and the organization.
-
Brown and White Paper Fairs: leveraging the participation and
input of the entire organization during process design.
-
Meeting Management and Facilitation: getting the most out of work
sessions.
-
Implementation Primer: the ten requirements for effective process
and organizational implementation.
-
Coaching: the process for individual feedback, critical to successful
behavior modification.
-
Implementation Deployment: the roles and responsibilities, progress
tracking and daily activities necessary for successful implementation.
